THE EXHIBITION THAT SET THE RECORDS RIGHT

How was the wristwatch born? Where does the ticking come from? What do customs officers do when they do not know if it is real or fake? So many questions that find answers in the Authen’Tic Tac exhibition, in July 2018

This new exhibition is devoted to watches – as a characteristic target of counterfeiters, and goes back to the origins of the fascination they exert. From the conquest of time, to the fantasy shaped by fiction, sport and fashion, to the feats of mechanisms and astonishing innovations, the exhibition first of all highlights the range of talents required in the watch industry. From this iconic status, come copies and imitations in increasingly worrying proportions. The current state of watch counterfeiting and the new means put in place to counter its expansion are deployed in the second part of the visit.

The exhibition is developed in partnership with the houses Hermes, Hublot, Tag Heuer, Baselworld as well as the Swiss Watch Federation (FHS).

According to the 2015 customs report, nearly 25,000 products were stopped by operational agents with a value reaching more than 25 million euros.
